Pajotten is a contemporary British clothing brand started by Rebecca Barton and Ben Sears, established in 2017 we have grown into a popular brand with people keen to support UK manufacture, and sustainably produced clothes.
We make simple, workwear inspired collections, including a range of pieces such as chore jackets and artists tops, clothes that can be worn all day, every day. Detailing is considered and kept to a utilitarian minimum.
While the detailing is pared down our sizing is generous, we want people to feel comfortable in the clothes, pockets are deep, and sleeves and hems are wide.
Always averse to the waste and environmental impact of the fashion industry we aim to do things differently through Pajotten, firstly most of our pieces are made to order within our rural Kent studio, this means there aren’t lots of unsold garments thrown into landfill, everything is dispatched within 4 weeks of payment.
We are very keen to support British manufacture so everything we use including fabrics, trimmings and buttons are either sourced from UK mills and companies, or bought as 'deadbolt' from designer level UK Studios. We use a mix of organic, and recycled cloth, cottons, and linens, as well as eco cloth such as hemp and tencel.
Brexit was a real deciding factor in our decision to launch the company, we realised that unless people built manufacture within the UK it would struggle, We now feel that we are part of a very positive and proactive movement of British brands celebrating UK manufacture.
WE DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY
Because we are a small brand we are able to do things differently, rather than working to fixed seasons we simply add new pieces when we feel they are needed, this means there will always be something new on the website to promote while customer favorites will stay available. Because we cannot always buy large quantities of the deadbolt fabric some pieces are strictly limited edition.
We are very keen to communicate directly with our customers, and are happy to send out fabric swatches prior to purchase, in fact most of our customers are repeat customers which is great, and means we can offer a very personal service.
As the global situation changes it becomes more important to purchase clothes that will last for years, costing pennies, rather than pounds per wear, Pajottion pieces are made to last, our stitch sizes are kept small, seams are reinforced and cloth quality is extremely high, garments are carefully inspected and hand finished to make sure they are perfect on arrival.
