Pajotten is a contemporary new sustainable British clothing brand for men and women,
Pajotten is about simple, quiet wearable clothes with a contemporary feel to them. Detailing is considered and kept to a utilitarian minimum.
Importantly the garments are a reflection of what we enjoy wearing, and feel confident in.
While the detailing is pared down our sizing is generous, we want people to feel comfortable in the clothes, pockets are deep and sleeves and hems are wide.

The first collection is made up of eight coordinating menswear pieces, Denim, cotton and linen utilised in neutral shades. reference points are vintage chorewear from a range of countries.
Womenswear is currently under construction and will be very similar to the mens in feel - its is about wearability, clothes that make you feel good and allow you to go about your day.

Always averse to the waste and environmental impact of the fashion industry we aim to do things differently through Pajotten, firstly all of our pieces are made to order for each customer within our rural Kent studio, and finished by hand, this means there aren’t lots of unsold garments thrown into landfill, everything is dispatched within 1-2 weeks.
We are very keen to support British manufacture so everything we use including fabrics, trimmings and buttons are either sourced from UK mills and companies, or bought as 'deadbolt' from designer level UK Studios. We don’t currently use organic fabrics but everything is in 100% natural fibres.
Brexit was a real deciding factor in our decision to launch the company, we realised that unless people built manufacture within the UK it would struggle, We now feel that we are part of a very positive and proactive movement celebrating what makes us different from the rest of the world.

Because we are a small brand we are able to do things differently, rather than working to fixed seasons we simply add new pieces when we feel they are needed, this means there will always be something new on the website to promote while customer favorites will stay available. Because we cannot always buy large quantities of the deadbolt fabric some pieces are strictly limited edition.
We are very keen to communicate directly with customers, and are happy to send out fabric swatches prior to purchase, and if they require a longer or shorter length than we can arrange this through phone or email.
We only sell through our website currently but have already had real interest from overseas retailers keen to sell out brand, this is something we may well explore in 2018.

Being able to make everything in the UK was very important to us, we wanted to oversee the quality of each piece and so we manufacture everything from our studio in Kent. As the company grows we expect to employ more machinists and cutters but will aim to keep the production in-house. We have a small friendly team at Pajotten who cut and construct each garment individually - everything is made to order (not to measure). Currently the jacket buttonholes are done off site at a small unit in London but we expect that to change next year when we will move production of those in house also.

We were really keen to source as much of our fabrics etc from the UK as possible and we have done this. We spent a lot of time at fabric fairs both in the UK and Paris looking for UK manufacturers - it was very difficult however we now have two different English mills working with us, they are able to provide cloth in smaller quantities than would be possible otherwise. We were very keen that the quality of the cloth was excellent and we have managed this by sourcing a lot of deadbolt cloth from British designer level studios, cloth that otherwise would be out of our price point, this cloth probably isn't all made in the UK but would possibly have been sent to landfill unless purchased by us.
