English sparkling wine is one of our favourite summer tipples here at Make it British. So we’ve decided to create a list to help you enjoy it too! Here’s our Top 10 of English sparkling wines…
According to the English Wine Producers there are over 500 commercial vineyards in the UK and 133 wineries. 66% of the wine produced in England is sparkling.
English sparkling wine is fantastic – if you haven’t tried it you really should. It easily matches the quality of that produced in Champagne. In fact, in the last 16 years English sparkling wines have won more awards than any other countries!
Even the French are getting in on the act – Champagne brand Taitinger have invested in a Kent vineyard, the first Grand Marque Champagne house to do so in the UK.
