Find UK manufacturers at Meet the Manufacturer 2016

One of the questions that I most often get asked is:

‘Where can I find a UK manufacturers to make my products, I’ve looked everywhere!?‘.

So in 2014 I set up an event to solve just that problem. A trade show and conference for the UK manufacturing industry called, for want of a better name at the time, Meet the Manufacturer.

The inaugural event was in 2014 and featured 56 manufacturers. This year the event will have over 150 suppliers to the UK fashion, textile and homewares industry. It is the place to come if you want to find a British manufacturer that can make a product to your specifications. It doesn’t matter whether your orders are large or small, there are different types of manufacturers there for everyone, and for every type of product.UK manufacturers trade show

Part of the reason that I set the show up was because I was amazed at how many people didn’t go and visit manufacturers and meet them face to face. I think this in-person networking is essential if you want to successfully make a product in the UK. I even wrote an article giving 5 good reasons why you should meet your manufacturer face to face – you can read it on our event website or on Linkedin here.

This year’s conference even has the opportunity for you to take to the stage to be one of our speakers!

We are giving enterprising firms the chance to talk about their business in front of our audience of industry insiders, including key members of the UK trade press and buyers and sourcing directors from some of Britain’s largest store groups. You’ll have five minutes to tell the room about you product and your experiences of manufacturing in the UK. After the shortlisted companies have given their presentation a panel of experts will give their feedback on each business and at the end the audience will vote on which has the most potential to be a UK manufacturing success. The winner will then walk away with a prize worth £1000 for their business! Both brands and manufacturers can enter the competition – you’ve got until the end of April. More details here.

I look forward to seeing you at the show.

Meet the Manufacturer, 25-26th May, The Old Truman Brewery, London. E1

I went on line to see how I could support Britain by buying something imported from Britain. I found that you pretty much export gravy. Don’t you export things like gloves, scarves, glass, art, clothing, etc? If so, where is it on the internet? Why do I only find food in jars and cans? Could you please send this questionnaire to whom ever is in charge of marketing on the internet? If it is the government, don’t bother.

    Thanks for any information,
    Dave
