Make in British Founder Kate Hills | Made in UK

Hello, I'm Kate

I’ve been passionate about UK manufacturing ever since I had my own recycled clothing company and micro-factory in the early '90s! After 20 years as a designer and buyer developing products all over the world, I launched Make it British to support creative business founders that want to make locally.

Over the last ten years, I've helped 1,000s of businesses to work with UK manufacturers. Now it's your turn!

Beth Crane - Slow Living London

"The way the course is structured is excellent. It breaks down something that feels so complex into digestible chunks. For someone who works full time in a demanding role, this felt achievable and has accelerated the process vs if I had muddled through alone and probably been stuck researching in the wrong places and in the wrong order. I loved the accountability of the assignments as this helped me stay on track.

Kate's insider tips on approaching manufacturers have made that next step less daunting - I feel I can have an informed conversation to start making the vision a reality." Beth Crane, Slow Living LDN.

6 info-packed modules and bonuses! Here's what you'll learn:

  • My proven launch framework, that will help you to get your brand off to a flying start.
  • Clarity on who your ideal customer is, so that when you launch your products they sell like hotcakes.
  • An understanding of who your REAL competitors are, so that you can develop a marketing strategy that blows them out of the water.
  • How to formulate a cost sheet , and why getting this right is your blueprint to profitability.
  • What a BOM is, and how to find raw materials that you can buy in small quantities.
  • The best way to communicate with manufacturers, so that you get an answer first time and they're keen to work with you.

By the end of this course you'll have everything you need to start working with UK manufacturers.

Carolyn Axon, Tookie

“I wish I’d done it 18 months ago! It’s given me a really good framework to build upon. It has given me a lot more confidence. When I first went to manufacturers I knew I was a small fish - but then we did the course and we got a lot slicker and we went to the manufacturers prepared and they started to talk to us. It really works!" Carolyn Axon, Tookie

    Module 5: Costings

You'll learn why it's important to have target selling prices at this stage, and what goes into your costings. Plus the one thing everyone leaves out!

  • 6.
