091 – Britwashing. What is it? and how to avoid it

BritwashingYou’ve probably heard of greenwashing? But how about Britwashing?

This episode tells you everything you need to know about what Britwashing is, and how to spot it.

Sadly becoming all too common amongst brands and retailers trying to sell products for their own commercial gain under false pretences, I also call this ‘fake it British’.

There are several ways to spot it, and in this episode I uncover what they are.

    Hi Kate,

Excellent episode, the frustration we feel at brands duping comsumers in this way is huge. As a genuinely British brand who have developed every piece in our collection of womens wool & tweed coats with only British manufacturers, and continue to have everything solely manufactured here in the UK we applaud you for bringing this issue to the fore.

Hi, I am a lowly consumer, I try my best at buying British, I am in need of a can opener and a kitchen timer, can’t find any on the internet!
I want to help our economy, it must start with everyday purchases, if it’s this hard to do for basics, do we stand a chance?
