This short documentary shows how Aberdeenshire Council worked with designer Donna Wilson and local schoolchildren to create its own unique tartan
Ever wondered what goes into making a brand new tartan? This inspiring little video tells the tale of how accessory designer Donna Wilson was commissioned by Aberdeenshire Council to design them their very own tartan.
Enlisting schoolchildren to choose the colours that they felt best represented their local area, Donna then worked with Alexander’s of Scotland’s mill to create a stunning new checked fabric that truly represents its local area.
The resulting tartan can be purchased by the metre from Donna’s website, along with ready-made products using the brightly checked cloth.
