All my products are handmade and designed by myself in my workshop in Melrose, in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Care and attention to detail is given throughout the whole process using traditional craftsmanship where the focus is on making quality products that will last. My products are hand-stitched using the distinctive saddle stitch using two needles.
All the leather for my Eildon Collection is sourced direct from British tanneries and my buckles are all solid brass and made in one of Britain’s last foundries.
All my leather goods are made with vegetable tanned leather, which is the traditional and natural way of preserving the leather using tree bark. It takes longer to tan the leather, up to 14 months, but is gentler on the environment than other forms of tanning. Vegetable tanned leather is more tactile and each hide displays a unique natural grain and character. As you use your product, over time it will develop a beautiful patina – showing the journey you share together.
If you're looking for a special gift I can make a bespoke item for you. With the Leaderfoot range you can choose the leather and stitching colour combination you wish, giving you your own unique style.
