FelinFach is a Welsh company based at a 200 year old former flour mill in Pembrokeshire, Wales in the UK. Traditionally woven Welsh blankets and throws including a range of 100% British Alpaca and British Organic blankets. Our designs combine authentic Welsh traditions with an innovative and contemporary look. Therefore, our products will suit all types of homes from city centre living to more traditional homes in the countryside. Our Welsh and British yarns and fabric are hand-dyed using natural botanical plant extracts on site at our FelinFach dye studio. Our recipes include traditional and natural dye stuff such as Madder, Weld, Indigo, Logwood to name a few. Whilst botanical dye is a more time consuming option there is a beauty and depth of colour to natural dye that becomes more beautiful with age. All yarn is suitable for knitting, crochet and weaving .... whatever craft that needs yarn!
Our naturally hand dyed yarn and silk scarves are made at FelinFach dye studio in Pembrokeshire. Our scarves are dyed using different shibori techniques; ori-nui, hishaki-nui, bomaki, as well as resist and screen print, all using natural botanical extracts and an organic indigo vat. Our Welsh wool blankets are traditionally woven in Wales in limited numbers by 'people' and looms of yesteryear and not by machines.
