Courtney & Co
ABOUT

Courtney & Co is a family-run company established in 2016 and located in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. We are committed to reviving button-making in the UK following the demise of James Grove and Sons Ltd in 2012 and specialise in buttons made of the finest natural materials using traditional techniques and heritage designs.

We launched our maiden collection of buttons in 2016 made from Corozo. Derived from the nut of the Tagua Palm which grows in Ecuador, it is unquestionably the most eco-friendly of natural materials known in button-making.

We now also offer the first buttons in the UK since the early 1970’s made from milk casein, Codelite®. This material was a staple of the button-making industry and is also very eco-friendly and bio-degradable, being available in a variety of forms.

Presently, we offer buttons made in 6 tailoring patterns and 5 shirting patterns in a total of 8 sizes ranging from 16L to 44L.

We maintain stocks in as many of the above at any point in time in our standard colours of black, brown, navy, grey and natural but also offer a bespoke dyeing service (£25/colour) for those requiring other colours.

Courtney & Co is committed to a gradual expansion of our products and services including new materials such as horn in due course.

Sample books showing our range are available upon request at a cost of £12.50 + VAT.

All of our buttons are turned, dyed and finished in the UK with a commitment to applying the most eco-friendly principles possible – from the raw materials through to our dye-stuffs, polishing media and packaging.
