Bone Idol Originals

If you’re considering clothing for your dogs, look no further than Bone Idol Originals.

We make designer dog coats, luxury dog jumpers, English bridle leather dog collars and luxury leather dog leads, with a focus on small breeds and Toy Dogs like the Chihuahua, Mini Dachshund, Mini Poodle and Yorkshire Terrier; flat-faced dogs like the English Bulldog, French Bulldog, Pug and Boston Terrier, and sighthounds like the Italian Greyhound, Greyhound and Whippet.

Purveyors of the finest British craftsmanship, our luxury dog clothing is made-to-order. We also offer a bespoke service so your dog can be fitted for exactly the correct size to match not only their size and individual quirks, but also their personality.

Our vegetable tanned English bridle leather dog collars, luxury leather dog leads and designer leather belts are made by hand in the traditional way by skilled craftsmen, using only the finest leather.

And our bespoke dog accessories are designed by us to provide your precious pooch with the finishing touches to any designer outfit.

Dog devotee and former advertising creative, Jane Eakhurst, couldn’t find beautifully hand-tailored and finely finished items for her own dogs that would be comparable to any designer garment in her own wardrobe, and which would also last a lifetime, so the idea for BONE IDOL ORIGINALS was born with Jane co-designing the collection.

Jane said “We think dogs should look as good as their style conscious owners so have created an ultra-luxe range of clothing and accessories to reflect this. Discerning dog owners don’t always want fast-fashion that the dog will look good in on the first couple of wears; they want to invest in items that will last the lifetime of their beloved dog and can then be handed down, as an heirloom piece. They also care that their dogs look good all year round, and would be just as happy dressing them in a cashmere knit for cool summer evenings, or a waxed cotton jacket for a lunch date in the city – not to mention the stormproof coat for our unpredictable weather!“

Sustainability matters to BONE IDOL ORIGINALS and the brand is committed to supporting small UK manufacturers wherever possible, thereby keeping their carbon footprint as tiny as they can.

They work with carefully selected ateliers in the UK such as The London Cloth Co http://www.londoncloth.com/ who supply the brand’s beautiful bespoke tartan. And Tim Hardy https://www.timhardy.com/ the specialist leather goods manufacturer based in Worcestershire who hand-makes all the collars and leads.

Jane has three dogs herself – Frank the British Bulldog, who is the brand’s chief ambassador and muse, Nancy Noodle and Buster Blue the Cocker Spaniels. All three dogs feature in Bone Idol Original’s first fashion shoot.

From a leatherwear workshop in Worcestershire, garment maker in Shoreditch, jewellery caster in Scotland, micro-mill wool weaver in London and knitwear atelier in Leicester, Bone Idol works with small makers who are passionate about what they do. The combination of breed-specific garments and exquisitely designed accessories made from the highest quality materials results in a brand that celebrates and showcases the finest of British craftsmanship.

Our bespoke tartan is made by The London Cloth Co. in East London. Our sheepskin comes from Organic Sheepskins in Herefordshire. We use Ventile fabric in our Stormproof coats from ProFabrics in Cheshire. We get our waxed cotton from Templemoyle Mills in Co.Antrim, Northern Ireland. Our bridle leather for collars, leads and belts comes from Sedgwick and Co. Our branded boxes come from the Foldabox Company in Bedford. Our tissue paper comes from Precious Packaging in Co.Antrim, Northern Ireland.
