Weaving a wide variety of fabric qualities in cotton, wool and linen for apparel, interiors and interlinings; synthetic and natural fibres for industrial and technical uses, the heritage mill belies the modern machinery held within. A separate finishing plant offers dry raising and emerising for soft touch fabrics on commission; and likewise CNC Lectra cutting.

Mitchell Interflex is situated in an idyllic location in a beautiful valley on the Lancashire Yorkshire border, adjacent to the Leeds Liverpool canal. This gives us a clue as to when the original mill was built, over 230 years ago, at a similar time to the canal. Until the 1960s the mill was powered by water and we can see evidence of this still today. Mitchell Interflex has occupied County Brook Mill since 1907 and has a long history of both cotton and wool manufacturing – combining the skills and knowledge of the Lancashire cotton trade with influence from the Yorkshire woollen heartlands to the east. Today that means we weave a wide variety of qualities for multiple end-uses;

Well versed in market requirements and quality standards, we can realise our customer’s vision in wool, cotton and/or linen yarns.
HERITAGE fabrics : fabrics for life, for living . We weave a wide selection of traditional cotton qualities, re-creating a bygone era. We STOCK hold a range of heritage cotton canvas in modern shades.
ACCESSORIES : Throws, scarves and shawls. We weave bespoke fringed and stitched accessories.
INTERLININGS : for drapery and curtains. We provide wholesalers in bulk. We weave natural hair interlinings to order.
SPECIALIST FABRICS : Technical, Dim and Blackouts, Deckchair, Print base qualities.
We offer a Raising & Cropping Service on commission. Sueding, emerising and dry raising can all be applied to fabrics in order to ennoble and enhance the soft touch handle.
We also offer a CNC Lectra automated cutting service for precise and efficient cutting on long fabric lays.
