GBEA Awards

We are excited to announce that Make it British has partnered with The Great British Entrepreneur Awards on a new Made in UK award for 2021

Founded in 2013, The Great British Entrepreneur Awards (GBEA) is an awards ceremony launched to celebrate the success of inspiring British Entrepreneurs.

With over 15 different categories for businesses to enter, from Family Business and Start-up, to Fashion and Beauty and Small Business Entrepreneur of the year, the awards are specifically designed to recognise and celebrate the contribution of entrepreneurs to the UK economy.

Now in its ninth year, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards acknowledges the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs and businesses in the United Kingdom.

Central to its ethos, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards aims to be more than just an awards ceremony. It is a sense of community, and a thriving ecosystem of support all year round. Providing opportunities for winners and finalists to connect and showcase their business.

GBEA Made in UK Award

As a special addition for this year, Make it British will support the Made in the UK Award, a new category for 2021. The award will recognise an entrepreneur whose business manufactures its products in the UK.

If you make in the UK as a manufacturer or a brand, whether you’ve always made in the UK or whether you’ve recently reshored your production, then you are eligible to enter for the award.

The winner of this award will express the reasons why manufacturing their products in the UK is important to their business, and the benefits it has on the brand.

Francesca James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Make it British as our newest partner. Manufacturing products in the UK allows businesses to promote greener and more sustainable practices, helps to sustain and support local economies, and pass on and retain skills. It’s hugely important that we recognise those businesses and the entrepreneurs driving that approach.”

Kate Hills will also be joining the judging panel for the ‘Made in UK’ Award and is looking forward to putting the spotlight on UK-made brands.

She said:

“There has never been a better time to manufacture in the UK. It helps to create jobs, gives a boost to the UK economy, and offers huge sustainability benefits. We’re excited to be partnering with the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and thrilled to work together on an award dedicated to recognising those businesses that make it British.”

Applications for the 2021 Great British Entrepreneur Awards close on 4 June. You can enter here.
