This week in London – 1000’s of products made in Britain all under one roof
Best of Britannia (BOB) is a totally British trade and consumer show that is happening in Central London this week (Thurs 3rd – Sat 5th Oct). The inaugural BOB event in 2012 was well worth going to (see our report from last year here) and this year it promises to be even better. With over 100 exhibitors from the worlds of fashion and food, bikes and boats, and a whole array of other British-made products, there will be something there to interest everyone.
Many of the brands featured in the Make it British directory will be attending and taking along product to sell at the event. This includes lingerie by Ayten Gasson, women’s clothing from The Rose, and footwear courtesy of Walsh. Kidswear brand Hey Joe Clothing will also be there, along with babywear by Helen Gordon, ties from Tina Loder and knitwear from Hawick. I’m also looking forward to seeing Dawson Denim, who have this year launched a jeans line to sit alongside their denim accessories, and Vickers Bicycles who hand make some pretty cool bikes.
Evening entertainment at BoB includes music from up and coming British bands, the showing of some classic British-made movies, and an art gallery featuring work from contemporary British artists.
As well as some great food and drink stalls, this year the event also hosts a pop-up British restaurant provided by the Disappearing Dining Club – but spaces are filling up fast for this so you will need to book.
Only companies that support UK manufacturing have been selected to show at Best of
Britannia and ALL products shown will have been made in Britain. What are you waiting for? Reserve your entry ticket now!
