CountryMun Dogwear is a family-run business now based in the beautiful north of England and its history stretches back more than 30 years. The business was born when a Sussex farmer couldn't source hardwearing coats for his active working dogs and asked his seamstress mum to make them instead. Sales grew thanks to word of mouth and later, from exhibiting at prestigious shows such as Crufts. New products are added regularly and all are still handmade in England. The business strives to be eco-friendly and is passionate about keeping Britsh skills and manufacturing alive. Some customers have owned their CountryMun dog coat for more than 20 years - a testament to the quality and expert workmanship which goes into every one. As well as standard dog coats, the range includes coats styled for specific breeds such as whippet/hound, pug, bulldog and dachshund.
Wherever possible, CountryMun sources its fabrics regionally and all materials are sourced from UK suppliers. Many "experts" have suggested expanding the business by switching to cheap imports but that's not what CountryMun is about. Everything it does is designed to support British-based skills and expertise.
