fbpx British Made Leather Handbags, Briefcases and Luggage - Tusting

TUSTING has been part of the English leather trade for five generations and is one of Britain’s largest and most highly regarded manufacturers of luxury leather luggage, leather briefcases and leather handbags.

Unusually, in this age of very 'corrected' leathers being used heavily in the construction of handbags, Tusting specialises in using un-coated, natural leathers which show the true beauty of the hide and offer no hiding place for inferior quality. Leathers tanned using a high or even total “veg” content, although harder to work with, offer superior durability, mature gently and improve in looks with age and use.

Tusting customers return again and again, valuing not only the great style and durability of the products and exceptional customer service but also for the incredible value for money they offer, being world-class quality but without the mega-brand price tag. Further, Tusting remains committed to their products for life and offers a comprehensive repair and refurbishment service for them should it ever be required.

We understand completely that choosing a (reassuringly!) expensive luxury leather bag is not usually a snap decision, and we are here to help and advise – we really know our stuff so please just get in touch any way that suits you.

In their workshop in Olney, Buckinghamshire, which lies close to the original tannery founded in 1875 by their great, great, grandfather. It is home to our new generation of highly skilled craftsmen and is perfectly placed to draw on the considerable talents of local leatherworkers, many of whose families also share in this heritage.

Tusting only uses the finest quality leathers processed especially for them by their partner tanneries and where possible, these are sourced in the UK. The result is radiantly beautiful, traditional hides which effortlessly satisfy those ever-present requirements of modern life – practicality and durability. The hides are coloured using aniline drum dying, which enhances the intensity of the colour and guarantees longevity. Their sail canvas is a 24oz cotton fabric, which is specially sourced from UK manufacturers. Tusting products benefit from the very highest quality fittings. They choose the finest zips and solid brass or nickel fittings made by the Swiss company RiRi, to ensure excellent durability.
