All their products are made in their UK workshops, located just on the outskirts of the City of Liverpool, England where they have held their head-quarters and workshops since the business was founded in 1966.
The company endeavours to source all products from within the UK, whether it be our 100% recycled and recyclable packaging, bark dyed-leathers, tweeds and tartans, steel rivets or brass buckles. On occasions when UK production isn't available that can meet their requirements then they will look outside of the UK at core long-standing EU countries where infrastructure and international standards are well established. On occasions some leathers are sourced from Holland or Northern Italy. The company always ensures sourcing of leather is within the EU and always from tanneries that fully adhere to ISO14001 or better. Managing Director and Master Craftsman, Keith Hanshaw says "We have to ensure that non of the waste products from the tanning process are ever disposed of illegally or in water supplies. There's been nightmare stories of leather produced in cheap tanneries across Asia giving children serious health problems. We can' be a part of that industry, it just not part of our values and because of this we have to ensure no harm comes to the ecology. That means all our tanneries are carbon and pollution free." Specialist hardware maybe also be sourced outside of the UK. General if it's not available from a UK manufacturer, then these parts will normally be supplied by an Italian maker where they still have a strong jewellery, metalwork and fittings industry.
