We design and manufacture all of our pieces in the UK; wherever possible we work with sustainable processes and recycled fabrics produced by experienced craftsmen that bring an exceptional level of quality to our products. Our signature recycled Labyrinth throw and cushion were born from this ideal and have become staple products at ONE NINE EIGHT FIVE. We think it is important to know the story behind each product on all levels; from the design process, fabric sourcing and manufacturing. The more we know about each link in the production chain the more we can work with sustainable processes, creating collections that we can be proud of.
Due to the diversity in our product range we work with multiple factories to produce our collections. Our recycled fabric is all made in Lancashire, the fabric's composition is 70% recycled cotton and 30% other fibres. What drew us to this mill was how they sourced the fabric, saving it from garment making factories, re-weaving it, then brushing and sewing using traditional techniques such as blanket stitching on our throws. The outcome is a super soft fabric! Our plain velvets are also from Lancashire and are woven by one of the last velvet weavers in the UK. The sheepskin we use is ethically sourced from farmers in Cornwall and Devon. We love that we are able to make use of a by-product to the farming industry with the end result being a beautiful product that will last a lifetime.
