High street retailer Top Shop will launch a new made in Britain collection this autumn
The British-made capsule collection for Autumn Winter 2012 is comprised of eight pieces of outerwear that juxtaposes tweed, herringbone and Prince of Wales check. The range will launch in mid-July and be available online and in the Oxford St flagship. Prices range from £125 and £275.
As reported in an article we posted earlier this year, Top Shop boss Sir Philip Green claims to be a keen supporter of British manufacturing, and Top Shop have produced garments made in Britain in the past. However, it would be great to see the retailer committing to a larger range of products made in Britain. Eight garments in a couple of stores must be a fraction of the total Top Shop buying budget for the season. Come on Sir Philip – put your money where you mouth is and really support our local manufacturers!
The Top Shop made in Britain collection will be available from mid-July. Check out Topshop.com for more details.
