We’re hiring! Are you our social media superstar?

Make it British is looking for a Social Media Manager – could it be you?

Are you an enthusiastic person who delights in creating engaging imagery and wonderful words?

Would you love to use your skills to help UK manufacturing thrive?

Would your ideal day involve engaging with a community of British brands and UK manufacturers knowing that the work you do directly helps them to grow their businesses?

At Make it British our mission is to be the go to destination for consumers and buyers looking for British-made goods. Our platform has been supporting British brands and manufacturers for nearly ten years, through online marketing, digital courses and live events.

The primary focus of the Social Media Manager will be to create engaging social media content that aligns with the mission and integrity of the Make it British brand and that of our members.

You will have a good creative eye and the ability to create social media posts that inspire conversation. You’ll have experience of using digital technology to create on-brand content, and a good understanding of how conversations differ across our main three platforms of Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Our team is committed to making sure that each member of our community feels listened to and supported. We strongly believe that social media is a two way conversation, and you’ll be the type of person who enjoys commenting on the posts of others, as much as you do creating your own.

You’ll be managing our social media accounts across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter

You’ll be full of ideas for how we can build on our existing social media accounts, which already total over 50,000 followers, and be able to translate those ideas into a content plan that delivers results.


We are a small and nimble team at Make it British, and whilst the role is remote, you’ll need to work closely with other members of the team on a regular basis.

This role will start out at 16 hours per week but could quickly grow to more with the right person onboard.

There will be flexibility in the hours you work, but there will also be times when we need you to work certain dates, for instance when we have our live events.

    Hi, I may be too late but wouldn’t want you to miss out on the chance of hiring me! I have worked in communications for many years and digital comms for the past five years, setting up and managing social media accounts. Up until recently I managed a website with three million hits a month, which came primarily from social media driven traffic. I am now going freelance. Facebook is the biggest driver but you need multiple pages not just one, plus instant articles helps. Many business people prefer Twitter and Linked in so it’s important to still use these while Instagram opens up new opportunities for video etc. Building up an email database is also key and sending out regular updates. oh, and I am passionate about Britain and would gladly fly the flag for British brands.
