Some great photos from inside the Bute Fabrics mill
Thanks to Niki Fulton of Unified Space for sharing these fantastic images of Bute Fabrics
Bute fabrics has a great history – it was established on the Isle of Bute, off the West coast of Scotland, by the 5th Marquess of Bute. Having set up the company in 1947 to provide employment for returning servicemen after the second world war, the company is still owned by the Bute family and they continue to design and manufacture their textiles on the Isle that shares their name.
Known mostly for their quality upholstery cloth, Bute fabrics have collaborated with Jasper Morrison, Tom Dixon and Timorous Beasties, to name but a few. Having had their fabric on my sofa for over a decade, I can say from experience that it is of fantastic quality. So I was very excited to discover these great photographs taken from inside the Bute mill by Niki Fulton of Unified space. You can read more details from Niki about her visit to the mill on her website.

Apologies everyone, just realised with horror that I completely failed to proof-read this article before I posted it. All sorted now (I hope).
